Upstairs Bathroom

Update

The kitchen brick wall is finally finished, lot of work in grouting it, Mr B did a fantastic job! Painters have been back in finally and we have primer on several walls downstairs. All tiling (apart from kitchen splash back) is done. Next to do is cladding the sauna and then ceilings.

Tiles, tiles, tiles

Lot of tiling happening this week. Cooking area floor in kitchen is done, so is the porch. Downstairs WC wall tiles and floor done and shower room done. Also sauna floor done. Utility room floor done and only the little "mud corner" is still under work. Tomorrow going to buy timber for the sauna and also order all the skirting boards. Also have already bought some curtain poles and black out blinds for the boys bedrooms (very important because of the bright summer nights here). Ceiling material has arrived for us to collect and the plan is to start on that after tiling is done. Kitchen units should be ready next week...

Brick wall

 

Here the moisture insulation in the sauna and shower room, going under the floor tiles and first row of the wall tiles. Floor tiles due to go in tomorrow.

Kitchen brick wall was tiled today, and it look's just as amazing as Mrs B hoped for :-) It's one of the big "must have's" in the house that she really wanted and here it is. Grouting will still go on later to finish it off but looking great even without it:

Tiling

 Tiling started today, the shower room downstairs was first. The walls there are done now. Also went to collect the rest of the tiles from the shop so they are all on site now. Mrs B had a nice day off work just pottering about on site, cleaning up a bit, measuring and planning the furniture and curtains etc... still hoping for Christmas in the new house!

First bit of snow

So we got the first bit of snow last night! Winter tyres are on (after some trouble...) for both Mr & Mrs B so all set for the snowy and icy roads. Also perfect timing to level and fill the garden before it all freezes for a few months! Site looks very different now that it's all levelled and filled. Inside not that much progress, our plasterer/painter seems to be too busy elsewhere, hoping to see more of him next week... regardless, tiling will start Monday!
