Mr B's painting marathon started with timber for the eaves.                                                         

                                                                     

Noah got to climb up the ladder to go "upstairs". Mrs B followed but didn't enjoy the experience as not very good with heights...             

Frame is up for downstairs, next some supporting walls upstairs and the roof trusses are being delivered and lifted up Monday week.

We have had amazing weather for the whole week, sunny and temperatures around +20 so couldn't ask for better conditions (plenty of sunscreen needed).

Part II Begins

The concrete slab needed watering for couple days
so it wouldn't dry too quickly. Boys favorite job so far!  

First bits of timber frame went up on Monday

Big load of timber arrived on site Wednesday morning so "the real building" can start. But before then we will celebrate getting the foundation done - part one is over!

Underfloor heating...

...went in today so it's all systems go tomorrow for the concrete slab and also first load of timber is due to arrive on site! Mr. & Mrs. B had planned for a nice day off, shopping in Tampere, mummi looking after the boys.. and that's still the plan!

Getting ready for casting the concrete slab...

So the foundation and ground work is nearly done, we are just waiting for the underfloor heating to be installed and then we are ready to cast the concrete slab! Once that is done (latest by next Monday) it's time for a little party, "valutalkoot" as we say in finnish. Mr B might have to open that nice bottle of Cognag he has stacked away and share it with the two hard working men, Ukki and Grandpa, who both have been slaving away non-stop since the beginning of the build.

Very busy week behind, we finally moved to our temporary rental house and have spent the last few days making it our home for the time being. Lot has happened on the building front as well, here photos from the last week and latest ones from this morning.
